The steel used to create storage tanks falls into two main categories: carbon steel and stainless steel. Carbon steels can be divided into three main categories: low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, and high carbon steel.
Mild Steel plate is made from low-carbon mild steel that is used to provide additional strength and support to buildings and other structures. It is commonly used in road repairs as platforms, structural members in buildings, bridges, and general fabrication works.
Manganese Plate is the ideal solution for cases where severe wear is combined with shocks or high pressure capable of work-hardened its austenitic structure. Used in jaws of crushers, hammers or pulverizers, cutting edges of large excavators, liners of shotblasting units, cores and wall of parpen moulds, and screens.
A516 hot rolled steel plate is a high-quality boiler and pressure vessel steel that is very suitable for low to medium temperature applications.
A572 Grade 50 Hot Rolled Steel Plate
ASTM A572, specification for High-strength low-alloy Columbium-Vanadium structural steel plate. This specification covers 5 grades and 4 types of high strength low alloy structural steel shapes, plates, piling, bars. Grade 42, 50, 55, 60, 65 and type 1, 2,2 3, 5. Low alloy and high strength structural steel plate is widely used in engineering structure applications, such as building structure, construction machinery, mine machinery, truck, bridge, pressure vessel, etc.
Hot Rolled Steel A36 (ASTM A36) is the most commonly available grades of the hot-rolled steels which has good overall mechanical properties, is easily fabricated and may be formed hot or cold. Due to the hot roll process the surface on this steel will be rough when compared to cold rolled. ASTM A36 yield strength is also less than C1018.
1023 cold rolled steel plate is made of low-carbon alloy steel designed for use in applications that require excellent machinability and formability. This type of steel comes with outstanding weldability and machinability, making it an ideal choice for various applications. Its composition mainly includes iron, carbon, and manganese. 1023 steel plate does not have strong heat resistance compared to other steels due to its low carbon content; therefore it should not be used for applications requiring high temperature operation unless proper heat treatments are applied beforehand such as tempering or annealing.
1045 is a medium carbon steel is used when greater strength and hardness is desired than in the "as rolled" condition. Extreme size accuracy, straightness and concentricity combine to minimize wear in high speed applications. Commonly used in gears, shafts, axles, bolts, studs and machine parts.
There are many different categories of steel, and carbon steels are one such category that contains 0.12 to 2% carbon in them. The steel gains hardness and strength with heat treatment when the carbon percentage content increases; however its ductility is reduced.
